STOP SENDING QUOTES INTO A BLACK HOLE
You priced it Tuesday. It is Friday. Did they even open it? A PDF cannot tell you. A BuilderBuddy quote can.
The worst part of quoting is the silence afterwards
A PDF is a dead end the second it leaves your phone. You cannot tell whether they read it, whether it went to junk, or whether they binned it in three seconds. So you either chase and feel like a nuisance, or you wait and someone else gets the job. Every rival sends a PDF, because every rival starts after the job is won. None of them ever held the quote, so none of them can tell you what happened to it.
What you get
Your customer gets a link rather than an attachment, so the quote stays something you can see the state of.
You know it was opened
The quote tells you it has been read, and when. No more guessing whether it arrived at all.
And how many times
Once is interest. Twice is them showing it to someone else. Reading it a second time is the strongest buying signal you will ever get, and it is the moment to pick up the phone.
They accept in one tap
There is a yes and a no on the quote itself, on their phone. No printing, no signing, no email back saying 'that's fine'. You get a straight answer instead of a maybe.
It tells you which ones to chase
Quotes that have gone quiet are pulled to the front when you open the app, with the reason. You are not scrolling a list trying to remember who owes you an answer.
Nothing to download, on their end
It opens in any browser on any phone. Making a homeowner download a file to read one price is where a lot of quotes quietly die.
The link keeps working
It stays on the job, so you can send it again, paste it into a different thread, or point back at it months later. It is her record of what was agreed as much as yours.
Quote tracking: frequently asked questions
How do I know when my customer has read the quote?
The quote itself tells you. Open the job and it says whether it has been read and how many times. Reading it more than once is the signal worth acting on.
Does my customer need an app or an account?
No. They get a link that opens in whatever browser is already on their phone. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, and nothing to download before they can see the price.
Can they accept the quote without ringing me?
Yes. There is a yes and a no on the page. When they tap yes you find out, and the job sets itself up from that same quote. The stages, the shopping list and the invoice all come off it.
What if I would rather send a PDF?
You can, and the PDF is one tap. Just know what it costs you: a file tells you nothing about whether it was read, cannot be accepted, and does not carry the job through to the invoice. If you are emailing a main contractor who expects an attachment, send both.
Will I get a notification on my phone?
Not on the web app today. When you open BuilderBuddy the quote tells you it has been read and how many times, and the quotes worth chasing are pulled to the front for you. Push notifications ship with the phone app.
