Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using BuilderBuddy you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. The Service is intended for use by tradespeople and businesses operating in the United Kingdom.

2. Your Account

To access most features of the Service you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when registering
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
• Notify us immediately at team@builderbuddy.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

3. Description of Service

BuilderBuddy provides an AI-assisted quoting and job management tool for sole traders and small trade businesses. The Service allows users to create itemised job quotes, manage jobs, access a materials price catalogue, calculate profit margins, and export quotes as PDF documents.

We do not guarantee that material prices in our catalogue are accurate or current. Prices are provided as a starting reference only. You must always verify prices with your own suppliers before issuing any quote to a customer.

4. Free Trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with unlimited quotes and no payment method required. The trial begins on your first quote, or 14 days after you sign up if you have not made one by then. The trial applies once per user and cannot be reset by creating additional accounts. We reserve the right to modify or withdraw the free trial at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Paid Subscriptions

When the free trial ends, generating new quotes requires an active paid subscription. Quotes you have already created remain available to view, download and send. Subscription fees are charged monthly in advance. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.

Current pricing

Pro Plan: £14.99 per month, including unlimited quotes (subject to fair use). Pricing is subject to change with 30 days written notice to your registered email address.

Payment processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe Payments UK Limited. We do not store your card details. Your payment information is held and protected by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards. By providing your payment details you agree to Stripe's terms of service available at stripe.com/gb/legal.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting team@builderbuddy.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until that date. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

Your statutory cancellation rights

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with no payment method required. That trial is separate from the statutory cancellation right described next, and taking one does not shorten or waive the other. If you are a consumer rather than a business, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the start of your paid subscription to cancel and receive a refund. Because the Service is delivered digitally and immediately, when you subscribe you expressly request that we begin providing it straight away and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once the subscription period has been fully performed. Where you cancel within the 14 days and we have already begun providing the Service, we may deduct an amount proportionate to what has been supplied.

Most of our users subscribe in the course of a trade or business, and these rights do not apply to business customers. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights if you are a consumer.

7. User Content

You may upload content to the Service including text, images, and files in connection with your quotes and jobs (User Content). You retain all ownership rights in your User Content. By uploading User Content you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that it does not infringe any third party rights, is not unlawful, and does not contain malware or harmful code.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the BuilderBuddy platform, including software, design, trademarks, and content created by us, belongs to Builder Buddy App Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of our Service without our express written permission.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other user accounts
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications
• Misrepresent your identity or trade credentials
• Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or bulk-access data from the Service

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the Service or any material prices, estimates, or information provided through it.

Quotes are produced automatically using artificial intelligence, and material prices come from a catalogue that may not match what your supplier charges on the day. Output can be wrong. Every line is editable and it is your job to check the scope, the quantities and the total before you send anything to a customer.

We are not responsible for any quotes you issue to customers or any disputes arising between you and your customers. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of any quote you send.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Builder Buddy App Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email to your registered address at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Apps Downloaded from the Apple App Store

This section applies only where you obtained our iOS application through the Apple App Store, and it takes precedence over the rest of these Terms to the extent of any conflict.

• These Terms are between you and Builder Buddy App Ltd only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the application or its content
• Your licence to use the application is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the application. Support requests should be sent to team@builderbuddy.co.uk
• In the event the application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever, and any other claims are our responsibility
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the application, including product liability claims, any claim that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation
• We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third party claim that the application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as a terrorist supporting country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you as a third party beneficiary

14. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email team@builderbuddy.co.uk with your registered email address and a description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and to resolve them within 14 days.

If we cannot resolve a complaint to your satisfaction and you are a consumer, you may be able to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution provider or bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. Complaints about how we handle personal data can be made to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
